Adina Browne

2025-2027 Graduate Fellow

My name is Adina Browne, and I’m thrilled and excited to join the lab as a Research Assistant. For the past three years, I’ve been involved with AWS – Avian & Aquatics – which has deepened my passion for environmental science and conservation. I’m honored to be a new recipient of the SSIP Fellowship and have been offered a graduate research assistant position for the 2025 academic year in the Center for Marine and Environmental Studies, working with Dr. Kristin Wilson Grimes through the NSF-funded Securing STEM Island Pathways Program. I already have knowledge of mangrove species and their crucial role in supporting our ecosystems. I'm eager to expand my understanding of these vital plants and explore how their decline might be linked to decreasing shark populations. This opportunity will allow me to grow as a researcher while contributing meaningfully to marine and environmental studies.
